So what is epoxy…

Before we dive into creating your masterpiece, it’s important to understand what epoxy is and how it works.

Epoxy is a synthetic polymer made by mixing a liquid resin with a hardener. When combined, it cures into a strong, durable plastic that’s used for coatings, adhesives, fillers, and functional art. Whether you’re coating a countertop or making wall art, epoxy opens the door to endless creative possibilities.

Prepping Like a Pro

Every great epoxy piece starts with proper prep. In our courses, you’ll get hands-on experience with:

  • Cleaning: We’ll show you how to properly clean each surface using isopropyl alcohol (91% or higher) to remove oils, dust, and other contaminants.
  • Sanding: Light sanding techniques help epoxy grip smoother surfaces more effectively.
  • Priming: You’ll learn when and how to apply primers or base coats to enhance adhesion and get the best results—especially for metals or high-contrast color designs.
